Information and materials for teachers and guidance counselors
Teachers and counselors form an important connection between parents and young people during the process of choosing an education or vocation. This page offers information and materials that can be used to give ideas for teaching and guidance as well as inspire dialogue with parents about the role of gender in boys' and girls' choice of education and vocation.
Young people are affected by the information and advice they are given. If we mean to achieve equality in schools, the education system and the labour market, we must offer boys and girls a broader array of choices. Teachers and counselors are very important in raising awareness not only among young people themselves, but also among their parents, in educating them about new and non-traditional choices that are available to both genders.
Many different types of operators and partners are involved in working with youth. We hope that these materials will inspire you to co-operate and engage in dialogue with parents of students in grades 6 through 9/10.
